Speaking & Events

Al speaking at UXCamp Brighton

I’ve had my designs published in dot.net magazine as part of their monthly Designer Challenge and been interviewed on how to collaborate with others working on Responsive Design and featured in their Responsive Design Gallery, for a large scale responsive redesign.

I’ve presented talks about effective wireframing techniques and also running successful stakeholder workshops at both UXCamp Brighton and UXBrighton, and I’ve spoken about improving one’s photography using visual design techniques at Milton Keynes Geek Night.

Before relocating to live by the sea, I co-created, developed and ran UXOxford for 5 years, a monthly meetup featuring speakers from across the world of Design and UX, helping to share knowledge and best practice. Now 1200 members strong, it continues to thrive.

I also attend CodeBar in Brighton as a coach when I can, helping under-represented people learn to code and design, to further their skills.

I’m constantly learning and improving my design skills and UX techniques, through reading, events, and conferences, keeping up-to-date via my network on Twitter, and occasional writing on my blog.
